Ron Schara – Founder & Executive Producer at Ron Schara Outdoors
In 1968, Ron became an outdoor columnist for the Minneapolis Tribune, a position that eventually led him into radio and television.
Dan Quinn – Field Promotions Manager at Rapala
Dan Quinn has been living and breathing fishing since the day he was born. Son of Steve Quinn, Dan grew up around fishing, from being on the water to industry related discussions with his father, and everything in between. At the age of 11 Dan became his father’s tournament partner and by middle school Dan was a part-time employee at In-Fisherman, primarily working for the PWT (Professional Walleye Trail). Eventually Dan proved his work ethic and was promoted to a full-fledged part of the PWT, assisting in every aspect of the organization. Through that work he had a front row seat to professional fishing – the fisherman, the tournament organization, sponsors and everything that comes with it.
After the final PWT Championship in 2008 Dan was 26 and had logged nearly 14 years of experience working for In-Fisherman. As Dan was seeking a job as a game warden, he realized that his experience in fishing and the relationships he had in the fishing world were significant. The law enforcement route wasn’t easy and after a couple frustrating years of being turned down, Dan had a question that he couldn’t answer – why am I not looking for a job in the fishing industry!? He became focused on that goal and through a PWT friend, Brad Ertel, met Gregg Wollner, VP of Rapala. Dan and Gregg became friends and over time Gregg asked Dan if he’d like to visit the Rapala office and meet the staff. The stars aligned and soon after that meeting he landed a job at Rapala in Customer Service. In less than a year Dan’ dream job opened up, Field Promotions Director for Rapala. With that job came pro staff management, interacting with media partners, working with writers and of course a good amount of fishing. Dan’s experience with In-Fisherman, industry friends and experience on the water proved invaluable to the position he now has. Dan lives in Hudson, WI with his wife Megan, son McCarthy (6) and daughter Delaney (3).
